| Discussing the next shots to do |
Today was probably my favourite shooting day of the inter lot. It was the day we had all been waiting for: the day our actress "falls down the stairs" and then gets a gory head injury (as seen above)! The mood was a buzz, everybody had a laugh and enjoyed themselves doing shots 59 and 60, however they took a lot of time to do due to them being figured out, practised by myself and Daniel first to make sure they actually look right before making Rebecca do it herself.
The very first take of shot 59 was brilliant except for her hand being still in shot and Alex not letting go because of instinct. This brought out fits of giggles but ultimately it proved to us that this shot was possible. (For the record, our actress wasn't literally going to fall down the stairs :)) It took roughly 6-7 takes to get the perfect shot, which compared to others we thought was okay.
It took roughly hour and a half/2 hours for me to complete Rebecca's head injury to the level that I wanted with toilet paper, PVA glue, make-up and fake blood, and it took constant topping up to make the blood look fresh however we all felt it came out effectively and successfully as it looks real enough on camera and was much better to get the resources together. I asked the art department for some clay to use to get a mould from the edge of the stairs bannister so I knew precisely what shape the wound would have to be in Rebecca's head.

| The finished head injury |
After the falling down the stairs shots, we went straight onto scene 1 and filmed all of the shots where Rebecca's head was in shot that had the wound on. This was because we knew we wouldn't have time for me to redo the head injury in the short space of time we had and so once Rebecca washes it off, that's it, so shots 6-9 were all of the shots that we thought there would be a slight possibility that her head would be in shot.
Daniel did take over the cinematography for a while today and filmed shot 60 because both myself and him were the stunt co-ordinators and wanted to figure out where the camera would be better. I stayed above Rebecca to make sure she did't fall, however I did shift downstairs to help even more. Cameron remained camera man and filmed shots 6-9 and shared shot 59 with Daniel at times.
